Supervisor - Production
Job no: 968804
Work type: Permanent
Location: WA Regional
Supervisor – Refinery, Production
14:14 Roster | FIFO ex Perth, WA to Murrin Murrin Operation
Minara Resources is wholly owned by Glencore International and operates the Murrin Murrin Nickel Cobalt mining and refining project in the northern Goldfields region of Western Australia between the towns of Leonora and Laverton.
Our Murrin Murrin Operations includes engineering complexity not present in the processing of other commodities such as iron ore, gold, coal or mineral sands which allows us to offer exceptional career growth and technical challenges.
Our operations comprise an Ore Leach area which utilises High Pressure Acid Leaching (HPAL) technology and a Refinery that produces LME grade briquettes on site. As an owner-operator, we also run our own Utilities department which incorporates a power station (including steam and gas turbines), a 4400TPD acid plant, 6TPH H2S plant and a reverse osmosis water treatment plant which draws from our extensive bore fields.
Due to increasing our numbers to assist in the better management of servicing our teams, opportunities have arisen within our Production Department, initially in the area of Refinery, for our newly created positions of Production Supervisors to lead, coordinate and mentor existing teams. In this role you will have active involvement in ensuring the operating team activities are aligned with Minara’s overall business objectives.
To succeed in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:
- Experience in a senior supervisory role in a hydrometallurgical plant or refinery
- Strong understanding of production and maintenance strategies for a large scale, continuous operating mineral processing plant
- Effective leadership skills with previous improvement outcomes on production and team behaviour
- Strong interpersonal, time management and communication skills
- Sound analytical skills and business acumen
- Thorough hands-on understanding of mechanical and chemical processes
- Experience with shift/roster planning
Your ability to engage other operating disciplines to foster a “team” based working relationship is also essential. Naturally demonstrated understanding of and hands on experience with Workplace Heath, Safety and Environmental procedures, policies and management systems is one of the key criteria for this role. Sound understanding of emergency response, clearance to work procedures and gas monitoring equipment is a definite advantage.
Production crews at Murrin Murrin work 12 hour days on a 14:14 Roster, FIFO from Perth, with crews rotating between day and night shift. We fly to site on jets making it a short and comfortable flight and our village is well equipped to keep you entertained, including gym, tennis courts, beach volleyball courts, swimming pool and tavern. Our rooms come with a bathroom ensuite, WiFi and our chefs will ensure you are well fed.
