Minara Resources Pty Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Glencore and has grown to become one of the world's major Nickel and Cobalt producers. Our site, Murrin Murrin is a lateritic nickel operation utilising standard open cut mining practices in multiple pit locations to move circa 1M BCM per month. All mining activities are conducted in line with our commitment to “Safety, Quality and Production”.

The Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for a suitably qualified and safety focused Production Training Coordinator to work in our Mining Department.  Reporting to the Team Lead – Mine Safety and Training, you will be responsible for training and assessing mobile plant operator (MPO) production staff, ensuring all MPO’s are competent to operate relevant mobile mining plant in accordance with Company and legislative requirements.

This challenging and rewarding role involves hands-on development and delivery of course material, conducting individual competency assessments and coordinating document management. 

You will be a self starter able to keep a "finger on the pulse" of current operational performance as well as an "eye to the future" in terms of developing patterns and trends.  You will be expected to promote continuous improvement by challenging work practices, contributing constructively and encouraging employee participation in new concepts.

This role is multi-faceted and offers excellent career and personal development. In order to be considered, you will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes as a minimum:

  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessing
  • Working knowledge of the Mines Safety Inspection Act & Regulations
  • Previous experience developing and delivering training packages
  • Mobile plant operating experience
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills to facilitate accurate transfer of information
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office computer skills
  • WA MR/HR class licence

Desirable skills include:

  • Certificate IV in OHS
  • Ventilation Technician
  • Noise Technician

The Lifestyle: 

This position is available on a permanent basis, on a family friendly 8:6 roster, FIFO from Perth. 

We fly to site on jets making it a short and comfortable flight and our village is well equipped to keep you entertained with a gym, tennis courts, basketball courts, cricket nets, swimming pool and tavern.  All our rooms have ensuite bathroom facilities and our resident chefs will ensure you are well fed while on site.
