Minara Resources is Australia's second largest Nickel producer and one of the top ten in the world. Our Murrin Murrin operation is a world class hydrometallurgical project; we were one of the first to invest in and develop the technology we use and we aim to become a world leader in Nickel and Cobalt production. At Minara, we are excited about what we do and want to ensure that we have top quality people who share our values and vision, to meet the challenges we face.

The Role:
An exciting opportunity has become available for a suitably qualified and safety focused Training Superintendent to work within the Production Department at our continuous operating process facility at our Murrin Murrin site near Leonora in the northern Goldfields. Reporting to the Manager - Production, you will be responsible for ensuring all training needs for the business are met and that management is kept informed about the progression of employees with their training accomplishments.

It is an exciting time for training at Murrin Murrin, as we roll out new certificate four level leadership training for senior plant operations personnel and look to develop more technical qualifications for our people in processing technology.

The Training department is very customer focussed, ensuring that the changing needs of the plant and mining operations are met and we are keen for that customer focus to continue to grow. Therefore, applicants with previous exposure in production leadership roles within complex process plant and a demonstrated passion for training, would be viewed favourably.

You will be a self-starter, able to keep a "finger on the pulse" of current operational performance, as well as an "eye to the future" in terms of developing patterns and trends.  You will be expected to promote continuous improvement by challenging work practices, contributing constructively and encouraging employee participation in new concepts.

This role is multi-faceted and offers excellent career and personal development. In order to be considered, you will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes as a minimum:

  • Demonstrated record of achievement in developing and implementing new training initiatives;
  • Previous exposure to leading or mentoring teams and trainees;

  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills to facilitate accurate transfer of information;
  • WA "C" class licence or equivalent;
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessing (or demonstrated willingness to complete it).
